(1898–1991), was a university chancellor and educator. He wrote in “The American Dream,” paragraph 3:
The American dream is the latent fire that lies buried, awaiting a spark, in the breast of every American … the dream of achieving, the dream of contributing, the dream of fulfillment. It is all this, and much, much more—all of it comes from a bedrock foundation of spiritual understanding, faith in God, a dedication to God’s laws.3510
