(c.1666–September 7, 1719), was an English mathematician. He edited The Dictionary of Arts and Sciences, 1704, which was the first encyclopedia in the English language. He was vice-president of the Royal Society and participated in giving the Boyle Lectures which defended the Christian faith.
The lectures given by John Harris in 1698, were entitled:
