“to lay up, store up,” is rendered “in store” (lit., “storing”), with a view to help a special case of need, 1Co 16:2; said of the heavens and earth in 2Pe 3:7, RV, “have been stored up (for fire),” marg., “stored (with fire),” AV, “kept in store (reserved unto fire).” See LAY, No. 17, TREASURE.

“to treasure up, store away” (apo), is used in 1Ti 6:19, of “laying up in store” a good foundation for the hereafter by being rich in good works.
