Levy-Bruhl, Lucien

(1857-1939) Professor of Philosophy at the Sorbonne 1899-1939, represents a sociological and anthropological approach to philosophy; his chief contribution is an anthropological study of primitive religion which emphasizes the “prelogical” or mystical character of the thinking of primitive peoples.
