Notes: (1) In Rom 3:19, AV, hupodikos, “brought to trial,” lit., ‘under judgment’ (hupo, “under,” dike, “justice”), is incorrectly rendered “guilty;” RV, “under the judgement of.” See JUDGMENT. (2) In Mat 23:18, opheilo, “to owe, to be indebted, to fail in duty, be a delinquent,” is misrendered “guilty” in the AV; RV, “a debtor.”
