Guillaume Bude

Catholic philologist. Born 1467; died 1540. Translated many of Plutarch’s Lives into Latin. Wrote various works on the study of Greek. He suggested to Francis I the college for the study of Greek, Latin and Hebrew which afterwards became the College de France.
