(Heb; Tsophay’, , patronymic; from Zuph [Frst]; Sept. ; Vulg. Sophat), a Kohathite Levite, son of Elkanah and father of Nahath (1Ch 6:26 [Hebrews 11]); elsewhere (Heb 11:35) called simply ZUPH SEE ZUPH (q.v.).
