Lia Fail

Lia Fail

(Gaelic: Stone of Destiny)

Sacred stone of the kings of Tara. It was later removed to Scone, Scotland, and the Scottish kings were seated upon it at their coronation, until its seizure by Edward I of England , who had it placed under the coronation chair in Westminster Abbey, where it still remains. Legend claims it to be the stone on which the patriarch Jacob pillowed his head.
